June 2005 saw the first AiboNation meeting in the South of England. It promised to be the biggest Aibo meeting ever with more than 100 Aibos attending but due to outside influences we didn't quite see this number. There were dogs and owners from all over the UK as well as some from the US and France and the meeting took place on the weekend of the 9th & 10th July at the Coppid Beech Hotel near Bracknell.

There were races for each series of Aibo, a fancy dress competition, a couple of demos by TeamDax and the record attempt for the most Aibos dancing at one time.

So what did we get up to at the meeting? Well we took part in the races and the fancy dress competition and were part of the mass dancing Aibos. Dexter did far better than I did in the races, coming 5th in a very tight raced final (there were centimetres between the first 5 finishers). The pre-race favourite Dongle finished back in 6th place and only just pipped Dexter in the heat. I didn't even qualify from my heat coming last! I hadn't even got past the start line when the winner crossed the finish line! well there's always next year.

As mentioned above, Deefer took part in the fancy dress competition. To go with his costume was a new personality that our owner wrote especially for him. We have persuaded him to put it on this site for other people to download and you can find it on the downloads page. In case you were wondering what it was that Deefer was actually dressed up as, the answer is Doc Brown!
